about the area
Locals is located on the corner of Harden St. and Devine St. in the downtown area of Columbia, SC. This area of town is referred to as "Five Points" because five roadways all converge into one spot. Known for it's bars and restaurants, Five Points is also located right beside the University of South Carolina's main campus, one block away from the upscale neighborhood of Shandon, and less than 2 miles from the State Capital.

about the bar
Three graduates from the University of South Carolina dreamed of opening a bar/restaurant/lounge for years; and June 30, 2003, they somehow pulled it off. These three guys set out to build the best bar/lounge atmosphere in Columbia... the feel of a neighborhood bar (like "Cheers") with the energy level of a big-city bar.

about the BIG SLICE
We knew we wanted to have some of the best pizza around... but we had to make it unique. After some brainstorming (after a few drinks, no doubt) we came up with the BIG SLICE -- a slice of pizza so big that one slice is half the size of whole XL pizza. Not only is it huge, but it's also hand made and fresh -- and we even came up with specialty slices so you can break out of the mundane and try something new. The BIG SLICE took off so well, we decided to add even more -- quesadillas, chicken fingers, taquitos, onion rings, fries and more. The perfect food for happy hour, trivia, or late night. And we serve it every Monday-Saturday, 7pm till close.

about the atmosphere
Locals has an outstanding staff mixed with an incredible base of regular customers who are some of the nicest people you'll ever hang out with. 42" plasma screen televisions are showing either sports, music videos or pictures of our customers. There is live acoustic music on certain nights, and drink specials all the time. We usually plan a major theme party at least once a month, and we are constantly running promotions. In short, you can always come to Locals and have a great time.

about flying napkins...
It started out as a small notion... just a way to get someone's attention. Somehow, it's turned into a staple of our atmosphere. During certain songs, our employees and customers alike grab small stacks of bev naps and when the time is just right... POOF! The napkins fly through the building, like a blanket snowfall. It really is quite a site. You'll have to see for yourself.
